What’s fabulous this fall?
Despite the lovely lingering summer there are sure signs that fall is around the corner such as the shorter days, crisp air early in the morning and the odd leaves here and there that have that first golden tinge. Even those that love the summer can admit that there is something quite fabulous about the fall and the feelings that come with embracing the cozy textures and warmer hues of autumn decor. We have harvested some great tips here to bring those fall feels to your interiors.
So what are the home trends expected to be fabulous this fall?
Before plunging into some of these trends we want to caviate these with the reminder that trends can be fleating and your space will feel best if you grab onto the elements you love rather then going all in on a certain trend or design style.
Warm Earth Tones
We already spoke about warmer hues, but what does that really mean? In 2024 earth tones and especially ones on the warmer side like terracotta, burnt sienna, brown, warm ochre and camel will stand out. These colours soften those starker, super modern spaces that have been on trend previously and will have you feeling a little cozier.
Warm Wood Finishes
Trees for ever have been associated with fall, and we think as we transition to more time spent indoors, there is a desire to bring elements from nature and the outdoors into our interior spaces. There really has been a resurgance overall into the use of wood finishes and furnishing in interior design lately, and specifically a return to rich, deep, chocolatey wood tones. This may be in part to the fact that these wood tones work really well with the warmer-toned neutrals that are also trending at the moment. We are particularly excited about some new walnut wood pieces coming to Modern Accents this fall. What we love about this dining set and console table/cabinet is their nod to furniture design of the past, and the modern sophistication that they possess, at the same time.
Don’t you love the brass details and the sleak lines of this gorgeous piece. It really has to be seen in person to really appreciate the quality.
Layed Textures
Bring on the coziness this fall by engaging the senses, with tactile and structured materials. From bouclé fabric to ceramics with interesting textures and patterns, these pieces invite touch and will make your interiors dynamic. Consider layering pillows with various textures and incorporate those warmer hues we already spoke about. This play of plush fabrics mixed with raw, unfinished woods will bring a blend of comfort and natural beauty.
Alluring Gold Finishes
One of our favourite parts of fall is how the sun casts that more intense golden light at dusk and enhances the golden hue of the grasses on the rolling hills and the transitioning leaves on the trees. Celebrate this same enchanting allure of gold by incorporating it into your home interiors. Do this with golden accessories on your tabletops and mantels and with furnishings that incorporate gold accents into their design.
Fall-themed Accents
As we have shown you, your transition to fall doesn’t have to be full of traditional fall-themed motifs, but we do have those too. The pieces we have in store have been carefully curated to tastefully enhance your interiors and compliment some of the other design elements we have already talked about. Soft Velvet pumpkins, for example, in warm rich colours bring those comforting fall feels and other ones made of artfully blown glass would be an easy way to warm up to terracotta and burnt sienna tones.
Please do continue to relish in the remaining beautiful days of summer, but simultaneously look forward to being cozy and surrounded by a warm and welcoming aesthetic when you have to come indoors. A fabulous fall designed just for you is just around the corner with a little help from Modern Accents.
