Inspiring your home after Christmas comes down

So all your Christmas decor is down? What now? Initially you might feel like things are looking bare or uninspired and it isn’t quite time to style your interiors for spring and summer. There are a couple more months of winter and more time spent indoors means you probably want to feel cozy and inspired by your home and the things that are in it. We have some great ideas to chase out those winter blahs and replace them with oohs and ahs.

Introducing pops of colour, and particularly fresh greens will awaken your interiors. This colour, from nature, evokes feelings of comfort and works so well with many different colour pallettes.

If greens just don’t work for you there are plenty of colours to choose from to inspire your space. Perhaps you have lots of neutrals in the way of furnishings and wall colours, which will give you a blank canvas to work with. Colour can show-off your personality and create a mood. What do you feel like?

Blues perhaps? These hues have been really popular over the last few years and can be tranquil or vibrant.

Browns are expected to make a huge impact in both fashion and interior design in 2024. They can add a wonderful richness and warmth to a space.

If you love to follow design trends, we thought we would also introduce you to the pantone colour of the year as another option. So what is PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz? It claims to “capture our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It’s a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” Sounds perfect to get one out of a winter funk.

You could also start with it as an accent or choose warm colours that are related like taracotta and soft pinks that might set a similar mood.

Bringing decor inspired by nature and the outdoors will also get you through these winter months. Not everyone has a green thumb so don’t be afraid to bring in faux florals and plants to soften your look and add interest. Some fabulous florals and large scale vases will have you forgetting all about that missing Christmas tree.

They may even take you away to somewhere tropical or get you looking forward to spring!

Our list of ideas for creating an inspiring and cozy home, after the holidays, would not be complete without mention of the easiest way to add “the comfy”. Layer on the textures and fabrics through accent pillows and throw blankets.

Wow and can’t you feel the joy from these vibrant colours! Bring personality to your space with colour, pattern and texture.

Consider introducing new furniture pieces with soft textures or unique fabrics.

Holiday parties and dinners may be in the rearview mirror, but we encourage you to find reasons to celebrate and have some fun dressing up your tabletops during these less busy months. You might even start to plan for those spring and summer celebrations now, so you can relax in the sun when the time comes. The key here is layering pieces with different colours, materials and texture. We can help you mix and match and try different combinations to achieve varying looks. Oh and did we say chargers? We have so many different options that will transform your placesettings and take your dinnerware from plain to “charged” up.

Now are you excited about the potential for your interiors? We want you to come home to an inspired space so please do drop in and we can help you pull some amazing pieces together for a whole new look!
