Oh What Fun!
Holiday greens and shimmering twinkling lights are a sure sign that our holiday decor has arrived. We have styled our tables here at Modern Accents for the upcoming Christmas season and we are inspiring you to have some fun with styling your home for the holidays!
KID AT HEART
It is the season of joy and it’s that one time of year that you have full permission to be a kid at heart and interject some fun into your designs, meaning throw in some of these cute snowmen a moose or two and of course a few elves.
FROSTED TABLETOP
Crisp whites sprinkled with shimmering silvers and gold are the ingredients for a stunning frosted tabletop. The addition of the silver branch-like candleholder, a few reindeers and even dinnerware with that motif give you that nostalgic, but also chic winter woodland feel. And hey if you feel the need to explain why you are decorating so early, you can call it winter decor.
IT GLITTERS, IT’S GOLD
You have to have a little glitter included in your holiday decor and our answer is gold. One of our favourite gold items this season are these trees of gold balls available in various sizes. They look amazing in the glass hurricane vase with the bronze base. The warm glow of candlelight is also a must and glass star candleholders will bring a little magic to your display. When setting your gold-themed table this season remember it’s all about the little details, like a takeaway ornament for your guests or a little bling on your napkin ring, that will make your gathering festive. I think we’ve mentioned this before, but we always encourage our clients to invest in pieces that they will love all year round and then embellish them with decorative accents that can be changed up depending on the season. The gold console table below will wow all year long, but isn’t it perfect to welcome your guests for the holidays?
CONSIDER THE NON-TRADITIONAL
This winter wonderland is blushing. Consider deviating from the traditional holiday decor and colour palette this year. Pink is the new neutral this year. Use them in place of traditional snowy whites or in combination with them. It makes for a whimsical, playful look and if you really want to try something completely different, we love the idea of the pink feather tree.
If you just can’t get into evergreens and traditional Christmas garb there are some other options for getting your greens and winter woodland feel. Succulents and manzanita branches are a modern alternative and could be just the answer for your super modern or industrial space. We love them in these concrete vessels and bowls.
GET COZY AND PLAN YOUR GIFT LIST
Now that you have your decor all figured out cozy up with some hot cocoa in your favourite snowman mug and enjoy all your work in pulling everything together. You may still need to plan that gift list and there are plenty of ideas for that too at Modern Accents. These little snowman and reindeer spoons would make a great stocking stuffer or add-on to another bigger gift or gift package.
