Modern Thanksgiving Tablescapes
Thanksgiving is coming up and we couldn’t be more excited. This time of year kicks off a season of entertaining and we are so thankful for the opportunities to help our clients set the scene for special gatherings of family and friends. We have plenty of ideas at Modern Accents to share and pieces that can be mixed and matched to customize the perfect look for your table. Here we will share four different looks for a Modern Thanksgiving tablescape along with some other fall tabletop favourites.
This first tabletop takes the expected fall motifs of pumpkins, harvest fruit and leaves, but paints them with a pallete of modern mettalic tones and matte black. The contrast between the lighter shimering glass pieces against the black is striking and gives the look balance. Then the gold sprinkled in through the leaves, pumpkin stems, and chargers, warms things up and brings a sophisticated elegance to this gathering.
We would also like to make note that the glass table with golden embelishments is the perfect unifying backdrop for all the accents displayed on top.
Using a serving tray or decorative bowl as a surface to arrange a grouping of other accents is another design trick we love to use when creating a centrepiece for a special table.
Every detail even down to the black flatware, beaded placemats, and glassware with platinum accents has been carefully sellected to create this beautiful and cohesive look.
Our next tablescape is a bit more traditional in its colour pallette. Golden hues mixed with earthy oranges and natural greens set among crisp whites make for a gorgeous harvest table. You will want to gather together around this one.
What makes this spread unique and non-traditional are the modern touches throughout. The amazing shapes of the vases from our LUXE collection will have your guests talking. They are so dynamic! The key to creating an interesting tablescape is playing with scale and height. You will notice that all the accents including candleholders, pumpkins and vases are different sizes and heights moving your eye across the table to take it all in.
Some of these same design ideas could be used in a grouping on a mantel or other accent tabletop. Don’t be afraid to use a holder traditionally for candles for holding other seasonal accents like these glass pumpkins.
You can’t go wrong in creating a feel good mood when you embrace natural elements and earth tones. Here we have used wooden accents mixed with fresh greens and rich browns.
You may still be longing for those summer patio days and this tablescape will take you back there bringing everything that is great about the outdoors in. Just add your favourite menu. Something to keep in mind here is that the dinnerware on all these tables is both beautiful and high-quality, foodsafe of course and you can mix and match to create the most elegant of tablescapes or create something more casual, depending on the accents, and layers you put with it.
On a special occasion like Thanksgiving, a nice touch is to leave a special little token of appreciation for your guests. In this case a heart ornament to take home will show them some love and how thankful you are for them.
We are really excited to share this final tablescape in part because of the table itself and accompanying dining chairs. This newly arrived dining set is a beautiful modern take on midcentury design. The dark walnut serves as a rich canvas for whatever tabletop accents you might choose from our wide selection. For this Thanksgiving spread idea we have selected the Golden Ginkgo dinnerware collection from Michael Aram.
Golden details to match the dinnerware bring everything together, including the golden topped flatware, gold embelished wineglasses, golden candleholders and the gorgeous golden tray used for the centrepiece. The vase in the centre is also a Ginkgo piece so serves as the perfect focal point for the whole look. The florals in the fall orange colour and the glass pumpkins are the finishing touches to make our table set for the season.
Also look how we have layered different textured round placemats in metalic tones below a mirrored charger. It’s all about the layers when creating a beautiful and eyecatching tablesetting.
We are so thankful for all these beauful options and more importantly we are truely thankful for you, our clients, and all the relationship we have formed over the years. We appreciate you gathering around all our tables for inspiration and for letting us, in part, be participants in making your spaces home. Happy Thanksgiving!
